Assessment tools

The tools behind the sessions

A look at the psychometric and self-assessment tools we use to understand each student before we build their programme. The first two are below, free to try, and both score themselves privately in your own browser.

A first look, before we meet

The two questionnaires below are where we usually begin. The first, the School Motivation Profile, looks at how school is going: where the motivation is coming from, and how supported the student feels in class. The second is for students deciding which subjects to take in the 11th, and ends with a ranked shortlist of subject combinations that fit their interests.

Both are written for the student to answer themselves. They are reflection tools rather than tests, and nothing is sent to us or saved anywhere, so the results belong to whoever took them. If either one opens up something worth talking about, that is exactly what the free icebreaker session is for.

30 questionsAbout 10 minutesNothing saved

A short set of questions about how school is going for you, and what is driving the effort you put in.

  • This is not a test. There are no right or wrong answers, and it does not affect your grades.
  • Your answers stay on your own device. Nothing is sent to this website, saved, or seen by anyone else.
  • Answer for what school is actually like, not what you think you should say.

This is a draft reflection tool, not a psychological test. It cannot diagnose anything. If something here worries you, talk to an adult you trust.

More tools on the way

We are gathering the rest of the assessments we use into this page: what each one measures, when it comes up in the S.E.T and R.I.S.E programmes, and how we read the results with your child. Check back shortly, or ask us directly.
